Helping youth organizations build cultures where every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered
PlanetChris Consulting helps youth-serving organizations build stronger, more inclusive cultures. Through interactive training and hands-on coaching, teams gain the tools they need to lead with confidence, create welcoming spaces, and make a lasting impact.

Let's Build That Future Together
In today's world, where the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is sometimes questioned, the need for meaningful, lasting change has never been more significant. PlanetChris Consulting focuses on helping summer camps, afterschool programs, and youth-serving organizations build cultures where every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered.
This work goes beyond DEI. It's about effective leadership, strong staff management, and creating programs that make a real impact. Using practical tools and strategies, I help teams navigate challenges and foster environments where everyone can grow.
This work is rooted in connection, collaboration, and a vision for a better future. If we are to arrive in that future, then love must not be rare. Let's build that future together.

Training & Coaching That Transforms Your Team
Every training I offer is interactive, practical, and built for real-world impact. I don't just lecture—I create experiences where teams engage, reflect, and walk away with tangible tools to improve their work. My approach is empathetic, honest, and genuine, allowing open conversations and meaningful change.
I provide group training for staff and leadership teams and one-on-one coaching for managers and youth development professionals looking to strengthen their leadership skills. Every session can be customized to fit your organization's needs, but these are some of the most popular topics:
Workshops & Training Topics
Creating Safer Spaces for LGBTQ+ Youth
Understand sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression (SOGIE) and learn practical ways to ensure that LGBTQ+ young people feel safe, welcome, and supported in your program.
Designing Inclusive & Equitable Programs
Move beyond buzzwords. This session will explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mean and how to build programs that reflect and uplift all participants.
Recognizing & Reducing Implicit Bias
Bias isn't always obvious but can impact decision-making, behavior management, and team culture. This session helps frontline staff and leaders become more aware of their biases and develop strategies to minimize them.
Building a Strong & Positive Program Culture
Culture isn't accidental—it's built with intention. Learn how to create an environment where staff and participants feel connected, respected, and engaged through routines, rituals, and clear expectations.
Professional Skills for Youth Workers
Perfect for young staff or those new to working with kids, this session covers the essentials: professionalism, reliability, communication, and how to be a positive role model for youth.
Coaching & Feedback for Stronger Leadership
Designed for new and experienced managers, this session focuses on giving effective feedback, setting clear expectations, and building leadership skills that inspire and support staff.
Mindful Communication in Youth Work
Whether you're interacting with staff, families, or young people, intentional communication makes all the difference. Learn strategies for listening actively, setting boundaries, and having meaningful conversations that build trust.
Love Must Not Be Rare
For over a decade, I've dedicated my career to creating spaces where young people and those working with them can thrive. My work is driven by a simple but powerful belief: every child, staff member, and family deserves access to high-quality youth programs—no matter who they are, where they come from, or how they identify.
Compassion and intentionality are at the heart of everything I do. As a social worker, youth development specialist, and a camp director with over 30 years of camp experience, I've seen firsthand how proper training, leadership, and culture can transform a program from good to life changing. I don't just teach theory—I bring real world experience in guiding teams, shaping inclusive policies, and helping professionals grow into the leaders young people need.
Through my work at PlanetChris Consulting, I help summer camps, afterschool programs, and youth-serving organizations create stronger, more inclusive environments. My approach is hands-on, interactive, and rooted in the belief that when we invest in people, we build communities where everyone belongs.
At the end of every training, I leave teams with the same message: Love must not be rare. Because when we lead with love and make space for understanding, connection, and equity, we create programs that change lives.

What people have to say
Chris is by far the most engaging instructor I've ever had! Great insight and extremely knowledgeable. This training helped me come to some important realizations about myself, which not many trainings have done. THE BEST!
So many times, I attend trainings like this and get absolutely nothing out of it. This time was very different. Chris was absolutely fantastic, the material was presented in a way that was engaging and thought provoking, and the environment was one that provided space for all types of questions/comments.
Chris made the training very engaging and fun! I learned a lot. Now I'm determined to make a better impact on my students' lives.
Thank you for explaining that there are no names for how I am feeling or how I should feel and validating feeling lost. I feel so unburdened.I hope I can help to change other people's lives as you changed mine today.
Chris did an excellent job of making the training informative and engaging through his charismatic personality/public speaking skills.
Chris has opened my perspective to the way I supervise. I feel like I have the knowledge now for more growth and development within myself and others.
